Overview
History
The MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology Library was established when the Lanao Technical School of the Bureau of Vocational Education was integrated into the Mindanao State University in 1968 as an external autonomous unit. The school was then renamed MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology.
The library operates in a centralized system with the Institute Librarian as the head. It comprises the main library and seven satellite libraries located in the various colleges.
The library holdings consist of books, periodicals and electronic media sources on subject areas covered by the curricular offerings of the Institute. The strength of the collection is on science and technology. Other sources include collection of theses and researches, microforms, vertical file materials and multimedia.
The open stacks are adopted in all service points where users may browse and select their materials. An exception is the Filipiniana Section where use is restricted. Books are arranged in the shelves in numerical order according to the Dewey Decimal Classification. Finally, service extends 11 hours daily from Monday to Friday.
